Sean Ward was born in Schenectady, New York. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Union College in Schenectady and graduated summa cum laude in receiving his MBA from the American Graduate School of International Management in Glendale, Arizona.
Sean is a Cancer Information Specialist (CIS) certified by the National Cancer Institute, the United States government’s lead research organization on cancer. During the ten years that he worked for the Cancer Information Service - the voice of the National Cancer Institute - Sean handled an estimated 20,000 calls from cancer patients, family members and health professionals. A Cancer Information Specialist is a health educator who focuses on cancer only. As a CIS he answered questions about all types of cancer including questions on cancer treatment, prevention, diagnosis, genetics and the latest clinical trials. Sean now focuses his attention on the causes, diagnosis and treatment of mesothelioma cancer.
Sean also has a very personal connection with cancer. He spent a number of years in and out of hospitals and doctors offices helping his mother, father and 24-year old sister through their cancer diagnosis and treatments. Sean knows how difficult it is to be a round-the-clock caregiver and how hard it can be to deal with the emotional and financial aspects of a cancer diagnosis in the family.
